The Hutong Tour is also called Rickshaw Tour.
Hutong are narrow streets or alleys, most commonly associated with Beijing,  The hutongs are alleys formed by lines of siheyuan, the traditional courtyard residences. Many neighborhoods were formed by joining one siheyuan to another to form a hutong, and then joining one hutong to another. The word hutong is also used to refer to such neighborhoods.
Nowadays the number of Beijing hutongs has dropped dramatically as they are demolished to make way for new roads and buildings. More recently, some hutongs have been designated as protected areas in an attempt to preserve this aspect of Chinese cultural history.

Hutong is the epitome of Beijing ‘s old history. For Hutong Tour you can take the rickshaw to drive through the old alleys to see the old living residence. You can also visit the local family to talk with them. This is a very good opportunity for you to have a real understanding of the local people’s life.
